Default Bluetooth Mic Placement and Wire Routing.

I recently bought an aftermarket headunit for my s2000. It comes with a mic for making calls via Bluetooth. I'm wondering what the ideal placement is for the mic? I've heard that mounted it by the steering wheel next to the the windshield wiper mechanism is a good spot. I haven't been able to find any information though on how to actually wire the mic from that spot to the headunit area. If anyone has pictures to illustrate how to wire it through the the dash that would definitely help.

What a coincidence...I was searching for the exact same info the other day!
In my Googling I came across this thread which contains ideas for mounting locations => https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-el...h-mic-1036567/
I really like this guy's stealth install near the cruise control, but I'm not sure if I want to drill a hole in my dash => https://www.s2ki.com/forums/automoti...1067386/page3/ (scroll down to post #28)

However, like you, I am more interested in the routing of the physical wire. Nobody seems to go into detail on how this is achieved (panel removal, any holes drilled, etc.)
Hopefully somebody with more experience can chime in

I put my mike on the drivers windshield pillar about 2/3 of the way up. The wires are easy to hide and nothing was drilled making it easy to remove. I have made calls with the top down and the other party has reported they can hear me clearly with just a muffled wind sound in the background.

I mounted mine under the climate controls, just to the left of the radio door. Wire is routed up into the corner where the radio door fits and it's just pinched in place near the vents.

Try putting it right between the steering wheel column and the dash... sounds perfect, no one can see it really and for me it just wedged in place and you only need about 2 ft of wire. U can see 0% of the wire when u use this location

Hard to see but it's right under the time and mph.... fits right between the dash and you can run the wire without removing anything.

My tablet is hard wired for power to a constant and is Bluetooth to a obd/ reader for engine info, temps psi etc...

I didn't mount mine. I just drilled a hole in the useless AP2 factory cupholder, and just looped enough slack so when I get/make a call, I just open the door, grab the mic, and clip it to my shirt. If the passenger needs to talk, I just hand the mic over without them needing to shout across the cabin.

I'm leaning towards mounting the mic in the top left of the windshield pillar. I came across this DIY to hardwire a radar detector and thought it might be helpful for others => windshield pillar http://www.s2000.org/mods/radar/
I'm not entirely sure how the wire will be stealthily routed from the back of the head unit along the dash and to the bottom of the A pillar trim, but I'm sure I'll figure it out once install time comes.
