I'm watching TV right now after a 6 hour Install affair on the s2000 since I had to do some surgery to make things fit the way I wanted...haha

All done and found a very nice "tested" location that works well for the MIC with minimal wind buffetting.

I can now carry a conversation top down at 90+mph tested

As for pricing, the piece can be found on Ebay for cheap or just google it....the instsall is the tricky party....argh!

I'll post pics and a full review tomorrow!

Thanks guys for the comments - keep them coming!

Well I had a super busy weekend and planned to finish this thing on Friday but what I thought to be a 2 hour install turned into a 7 hour affair so I finally finished it on Sunday night with 2 trips to Radio Shack and the local supply house. I wanted the install done perfectly and that meant doing some drastic modifications to the center console area to hide the Bluetooth box where I wanted it.

Did some road testing with the MIC placement and finally found a good spot that is relatively well hidden and makes it perfect to carry conversations top down at about 90+ mph

I found on most cars the dome light area or pillar are good spots but not in a convertible. I also wanted it to be able to pick up the pass. voice if need be so the steering column area works well. I don't need to raise my voice and just talk in a normal tone. Background noise and wind noise was totally absent.

The system is pretty stealth so the ONLY 2 things you see are the MIC and the nice aluminum button (backlid in blue).

Essentially the process is simple - you do a one time link to your cell phone via the Bluetooth menu and it's sync'd. Everytime you get into the car and start the car, the system will link automatically. This means you don't need to take your phone out of your pocket or purse. Depending on how you wired it, the audio system will mute and a ring tone will be heard through the driver's side speaker. The caller's voice comes in crystal clear through the door speaker and can be adjusted is needed.

You press the button one and begin talking to carry on a conversation. When call is done you press once more to disconnect. If you want to dial, you can do so from your cell phone book or via voice dial through the Bluetooth system.

There is a nice privacy mode and system disconnect if you don't want to use the handfree setup.

here are a few final pics - any questions feel free to PM or email me! I'm doing an install for one of my buddies on his car later this week....

enjoy

Module is DIRECTLY under the elbow pad section but to make that module fit in there, I had to do some serious metal rework

Tested it for the first time tonight and need to do some more tuning...speaker is a bit choppy sounding so going to have to work on tihs a bit more.

This looks very interesting! I'm a little confused though... the MIC is used to pic up your voice, but how do you hear the person? Through your car's speakers?

That's awesome, nice idea for a little present for myself. This is the kind of winter install that I'm looking for!

I don't know what kind of exhaust you have but what about engine/exhaust noise at speed?

Sound is meant to be played though either the car speaker or you can use an dedicated third speaker.

In my case I have it connected through the Focal driver door speaker but I think I'm going to try a dedicated speaker instead.....
