Default Boston Acoustic Z6 speakers

Has anyone installed B/A's z6 component speaks in an S2k. I'm seeing a couple of new set listed on e-bay, (see link below) and was considering jumping on them in place of the B/A pro 60's.

Thanks much,

Flish

I just looked up the specs for the Bostons Z6 and the dimensions are actually slightly smaller than the Boston Pro 60s. So...I'm thinking....yes, they should fit.

I have the Boston Pros in my car and the woofer fits using the adaptor spacer plate from Boston and removing the stock speaker basket.

How do you like the sounds of the Pros? Do they provide decent sounds from low to high.

I'm actually very happy with the Boston Pros. I'm powering them with my JL 300/2 amp. The sound is very crisp and clean even when the volume is cranked all the way up. No distortion whatsoever. The range of these speakers are just amazing. You probably don't even need a subwoofer with these components. For the highs, it can definitely be ear piercing. I had to tune it down cuz the tweeters can be overpowering to the ears. Currently, I'm not running any bass to the components since I have my sub to take care of that.

How low are you crossing them with your sub? I'm wondering if I can get away with not using a sub and saving some space and weight.

In my opinion, you wouldn't need a sub with these components. These speakers provide enough lows for you to run w/o a sub. But since I do have a sub, I'm not feeding any bass to the components. My head unit has a subwoofer control so I can control the level of bass to the subwoofer.

That's what I'm hoping to accomplish. I'm going to use a 300x2 Alpine amp so I suspect that should be more than enough power to drive the Pro's with the top down.

Thanks again for the info...

Mark (MugenRioS2k) has the Z6s in his car. He is running a boston pro amp in the back and quite a few speakers in the back, 6 i think. (pulled out all the soft top compontents and carbor fibered a cover ) He would be happy to help you out on it. He is going to help me tune my set-up whenever I find time to getting it put in. I have heard the pros and the Z6's, both are good but the Z's def rock with more mid-range sound. I would go Z's if you had the money.

Well @ $1000.00/pair they're a bit to rich for my blood, however I saw a few pairs on eBay for like $500.00. I'm kinda leary of that, it seems to good to be true if you know what I mean.
