Bought my car with those speakers installed. They are horrible. The tweeters just hurt your ears unless you turn them down so low that you lose the sound you wanted in the first place. Put them on eBay and buy something else. I bought a used set of Focal K2's for what I was able to sell the used Bostons for.

I have the Boston SL60's, and there is a 3-position jumper on the crossover to adjust the volume of the tweeter itself.

I've done audio for for quite a while and I know that everything was set well. Balanced gain, crossover (none), etc. were all right. I just changed the speakers and the sound was great all other equipment the same. Plus the guy that owns the local shop told me that Boston is just "expensive crap". He's been a friend for quite some time and wasn't just trying to sell me new speakers. He's about 50 and has been competing since basically the beginning.

Are you using 2 amps for the components? If not, you have to use the jumper/dip switch inside (can't remember which, if any) to even them out.
I was only using 1 amp and could not reduce the harshness of tweeters.

Nice to see some love for BA on S2ki. I'm a big fan, though they are relatively expensive... great SQ though.

The manual says you can attenuate the tweeters up to -4db. It looks like jumpers on the x-over, so if you don't want to do it the way described above.... just move the jumpers. If you want to do it right, follow the above directions. If you really don't want the hassle, just drop it to -2db and see if you like it... then to -4... then e-bay... or PM me. ;-)
