Hi guys, my brake lights act up when I hit the brake pedal.
Sometimes they work, then sometimes they flash really sporadically for a split second and then turn on. And then sometimes they won't turn on at all.
I was able to recreate the issue consistently by pressing the brake very fast on and off. And then eventually the lights won't turn on no matter what. I have to turn the ignition off, wait a couple seconds and then it will work again.
Saw this thread. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-electronics-26/tail-light-break-light-wont-turn-898042/
Could it be the switch mentioned in the thread? Mine does work but then it doesn't. It's not like it's completly off all the time. I'm worried if it's dodgy wiring/electrics.
The insides of the wires all have the ends taped, not sure if this is how they are factory or if previous owners did something.
Please can someone let me know if you have had similar issues or know what the fix could be? Thanks.
The break lights seem to be working completely fine all of a sudden. I've tested it and rapidly hit the brake pedal which usually causes it to not work but seems to be totally fine now.
I bought a replacemt brake light switch from a scrap S2k but didn't have to use it, will just hold on as spare. Thanks for your input guys.
