burning cds
It will play CDRs but not CDRWs. You'll need to burn the music files onto the CDR in a .WAV format.
One of these days we'll have a really good variety of MP3 players for cars. I think there are only a few onf them out there right now.

Brett,
No, song1.wav will not play in an audio CD player. I'm not an apple user either, Windows/Linux. If you look at the CD you burned that does work in your car, you will notice that there are no .wav files on it. Only .cda files which is not the same format. The burner program you use allows you to burn Audio CDs directly from a .wav file just as mine also allows you to burn directly from an .mp3 file. During the burn process it converts the format for you to CD Audio.
The reason I'm trying to clarify this is that if you burn a Data CD with .wav files on it (the only way to have .wav files on it), then it will not work in your car.
