Default Buying Ariel Atom- need expert advice

I just went out to Oregon to test drive the Ariel Atom. Frankly the car is awesome and I am buying one.

In any case the first US Atoms are rolling of the production line and there are various issues with making it street legal. One of the main issues is that they are not using SAE street legal lights- rather they are using Hella offroad and motorbike lights I believe. They are also using a 12v motorbike battery. How hard would it to be to replace all these lights with Street legal DOT lights. I would have to ensure all the lights were legal including blinkers, headlights, etc

My favorite idea is replacing the internals and lenses of the existing lights but I doubt this is possible..

Any ideas/help appreciated. I will have the actual car in 6 months.

It would be best to specify what state you intend to register the car in. Each state is different.

It would not be too difficult You could do some sort of a fiberglass enclosure for projectors. If your going to buy an Atom it's worth modding the lights.

From 45-70k depending on equipment. I have never driven anything like one- a mix between a go-kart and a race car.

However there are big negatives- no doors, roof, radio, power anything,no ac, not street legal etc.

Any detailed knowledge regarding the lights appreciated- where's modifry when you need him

Most people want to get it street legal. But there are only a couple actually produced so far.
