Default Can I get custom brackets/baskets made?

I went to install my Kicker Resolution RS6c's last night (I currently have Kicker Resolution RS5c's in there now).

While I was pleased to find that the bolt holes match up perfectly with the stock basket I am using (back cut out) I was disappointed to find that due to the design of the speaker it is too wide for the basket. This is weird, especially since if the speaker could fit flush against the bracket I could screw it in.

I also tried Lucid's 6.5" speaker adapter which does not work with these speakers. The was disappointing because I called Lucid to ask about compatability before I ordered and then after waiting 3 days for an answer they would work with Kicker Resolution RS6c's. I have not yet contacted Lucid about this but I'm sure they will let me return them.

So now I think my only option is custom brackets. Has anyone done this? can any stereo shop do this?

Thanks for any help. I'm pretty bummed. My stereo upgrades have been 1 kick in the nuts after another...

i'm not quite sure what the problem is from your description... is this a depth issue? or does the basket interfere the door panel. you could probably make a spacer out of MDF. i seem to recall someone just recently making one out of high density closed cell foam.

It's not the depth, it the arms of the Kicker speaker basket that disallow it to fit in the stock adapter. But the strange thing is, the bolt holes match up perfectly.

Can you take a picture of the speaker "trying" to fit into the basket for us?
I just want to make sure I understand correctly.

I believe the last part of the speaker basket...the arms that look like they are holding the cone.....are a little too wide to fit.

Like the arm on my speaker...../

Why not dremel those sections down a little bit to make them fit?
