Default Can our stock stereo play CD-RW's?

Does anyone know if our stereo can read a CD-RW? I usually just burn music to CD-R's, but just thought of trying to copy a few songs to a CD-RW, and wondered if that would work. First, now sure how you would do this (in terms of the software, what procedure you would use ie data cd, music cd, etc.) and second if our players could even play it to begin with. I won't try going through all of this if it doesn't even play them to begin with.

TIA guys.

if you burn it as a data cd it would be in mp3 format. which im sure will not work. they play regular burned cds as most aftermarket head units do, and I don't think CDRW's are all that different. but give it a try and see where it leads you. its not that hard just to make one and put it in.

Doubtful...the laser strength needed for the dye layer in CD-RWs is too strong for the weak laser diodes used in stock players.

Page 105 of 2003 Owner's Manual specifically says that CD-RW discs will not work.

Mine won't even play regular CD's now. It did play CD-R's, not CD-RW's. Got a new CD player, so I can listen to CDs again.
