Default Can someone tell me how to

I tryed looking around but cant find the answer to this. This will actually go in my daily beater, because I have an extra good battery, but I am trying to install a second battery, and still have it be part of the charing system. Is that possible?

ok whoa....first you have to ask yourself WHY you want to do this???

1) Intalling a 2nd battery only does one thing - increase your engine "OFF" listening time....

2) Once installed you will actually need to use a quality battery isolator otherwise you'll need a high output alternator as well.

3) So in essence you will be taxing and working your stock alternator twice as hard and it will need to be replaced sooner.

Most audio guys use banks of batteries for special cases but not for any type of a daily driver.

What kind of battery are you running and what type of gear and how much do you have of it. A lot of us have tons of gear and none of us need an extra battery.... so far anyway....

Just running an inverter to achange dc to ac and a amplifier for a sub woofer. I bet I just have a weak battery or altenator.

What are you trying to run off the inverter? Because unless its something crazy I'd say you just need a new battery.

I forgot to ask, how long are you trying to run this gear with the car off?

Humm.... really... I would say you need a new battery but I would have your alternator load tested too. Your profile says you have a 2005, and if thats the case I would bring the car back to the dealer for the load test(just call ahead to make sure they have a load tester and that their not just going to test for 12v when the car is off and the 14.4v when the car is on).
