Hi, I'm new to these forums and this is my first post, so forgive me if it's already been covered, but i couldn't find it when searching. Anyway i shall get on with the issue.

I currently purchased a 2006 model S2000 and was looking to upgrade the cd-player. Basically i want a CD-player which allows ipod connectivity and has built in GPS. I've near enough settled on this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/26495814...ch_car_GPS.html

However I just can't see it fitting with any great success. Anybody had any experience with this type of flip-out screen with the car?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Most flip out screens don't work in the S. I know someone has found one model that works, hopefully they will chime in.

You could do what I do, which is just to get a deck with good iphone connectivity and then download a good GPS app. I recommend Navigon.

 

you need a kenwood with the z-action, there are 2-3 models with it, or a single DIN, such as the JVC line

And it's nice because it will attenuate the music playing from your iphone and then give out voice directions through the car's speakers. It's a great option because this actually places the screen in a visible location and you don't need to take your eyes wayyyy off the road like you would if you had a screen down by your knees like the factory location.

 

pioner has one gps built it cd plyer and ipod which is what i have i had to get it custom made because i want it it in th dash so thay had to cut i love the way it looks ill try to ut up pics asap

Not really. The photo isn't mine, it's from another thread here somewhere. I believe the owner just used a couple prefab parts together and it wasn't all too hard. The only issue with this setup is the ipod cable floating around.
