cd player skipping
I just bought a Cd player for the S I installed it into the factory brakets a couple of weeks ago. I have noticed that it skipps sometimes when hitting bumps, in the road ie. rough manhole covers, rainroad tracks or big pot holes. I understand that the suspension is alot stiffer than most cars wichin turn gives is a rougher ride. i was just wondering if there was something I could do to cusion the cd player or something that woudl absorb the shock of these bumps.
You can get the laser re-aligned....i think. At least you can with Home stereo CD players. What brand / model is it? I would contact the retailer if you purchased it locally. If not, find a local vendor / shop and have them take a look at it. Sounds like the laser might be a bit off.

Does it have suspension screws that alternate between a horizontal and a vertical installation? Most CD changers have this but not sure about in dash units. Some may have been marketed for vertical installation. If these screws were set for a vertical installation and it's installed horizontally, then it will more easily skip.
