CD stuck in factory CD player
Hi guys, I just had a CD stuck in my 05 S2k. Started playing but when I tried to eject it, I got a "CD error" Is this a frequent problem other members have experienced?
I am thinking of getting it fixed, but not sure if its a recurring problem that may happen over again, even if I get the CD removed. I like the fact that the volume/tracks can be changed from the console near the wheel and if I get an aftermarket, it doesnt work. But then again, it kind of is limiting that the factory CD player only plays audio CDs and not MP3s. Thoughts and experiences here on whether or not this happens often and if it can be fixed?
Thanks!

I had the same issue randomly one day and I absolutely could NOT get the CD out (even after opening it up). I figured it wasn't worth the trouble and that I had just found an excuse to upgrade to an aftermarket head unit. You can retain your dash controls if you use the Modifry Dash Control Interface (here) with most aftermarket head units.
I've had a CD stuck in my radio for a couple of years now. I tried all the tricks to remove it, but no joy. I took it to a Mobile One store and they said it would have to be removed and disassembled to get the CD back. I decided that since high fidelity is not very important to me in this car (there are more important things to enjoy) that I would leave things as they are for now. The stuck CD still plays and the radio still works.
Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I bought a used OEM unit off Ebay, and looked up instructions on how to remove and install on this site (all you need is a screwdriver). 30 minutes later, done! If this new one gets stuck, I'll do the same thing again.
I had this problem with the OEM CD player too. I was told by someone to turn on the radio and hold the #1 and #6 button down at the same time (until the CD is ejected) and the CD player will eject the CD. The trick worked. Unfortunately over time the OEM CD player kept having trouble and it got worse so I ended up replacing it with an Alpine with the Modifry dash control.....which sounds way better.
mine is doing the same thing, i think the rollers needs to be clean cause it looks like its slipping when it tries to eject. to get the CD out you can try using a pair of tweezers to pull it out as you press the eject button.

I found this thread BC the s3k I was driving had decided to eat the CD I was listening to while driving home from streets of willow.
I didn't realize it had gotten eaten. I just thought I had ejected the CD and forgot to put another one in.
Here's the fix. While the stuck CD is in there put a CD in there but don't force it in all the way just about 25% of the way until you feel some resistance and hit the eject button. The stuck CD will move out far enough to pull it out of the slot. I put another CD in after the jam was cleared and CD played fine and ejected.

I had the same issue, my fix was to slip a half inch or so of a business card into the slot on the top side of the cd, gave the rollers enough to push against to eject the disk. Its an issue of the rubber ejector roller hardening, sort of losing its grip on the disk. I sprayed some wd40 on the same business card, (just enough to saturate it, not dripping or anything,) and let the rollers spin on it for a few seconds. It made the roller sticky enough to reliably eject disks since.. 5 months or so and counting
