Center consule in AP2 HU removal
From a boob of a noob...
Do you have to take the center consule out to remove the stock AP2 head unit as described recently in this forum ? What is your experience in just taking the molding out around the headunit carefully.
Thank you for your help!

I don't have an AP2, but from what I've read and heard you will have to take the center console off in order to get to the radio. Otherwise you will break it. Either way, I'd take it off just to be safe.
I have taken it out without removing the console a few times. I was afraid of breaking clips on the console at first, that's why I didn't take it off. Now that I know it was just some simple clips that pulls straight out, I wouldn't hesitate to take it off. If you don't want to take it off, the trick is when you reinstall the lid, use a flat head screwdriver to push the two or three clips on the bottom to align with the holes. GL
you have to definitely take out the center console before taking out the vent/Head unit. It's very easy
1st: unsnap all of the clips on the center console with a panel popper.
2nd: Once it is out, you have to remove your shifter knob but getting either a 13-14mm wrench and twist it off.
3rd: just pry off the vent starting with the top and slowly move around the vent popping it out.
4th: 4 screws and your radio is out.
Good luck!
