Check out the new Blaupunkt MP3/WMA player...
Am going to purchase the Alpine CDA-7878 MP3, but just saw this new Blaupunkt that plays
MPs's AND WMA formats. And it's only $399 suggested list. That means around $300 or so online. Hmmmmmmm. Anyone seen this yet?

What happened ROADSTIR? If you keep on changing your mind you won't be able to accomplish anything
Were you able to talk to the guy? SpeedSound.com sells the 7878 for $639+shipping (I think). Although, they are not authorized Alpine dealer like Tweeter.

Hey Kibro,
Am still hot for the CDA-7878, but that Blaupunkt caught my eye. A cleaner display (IMHO) with a tighter dot pitch. How popular do you think the WMA will become? Did I read that WMA is a more efficient format for recording as it takes up less space AND offers a better sound? AND it's only 1/2 the price. Somethings up here. Sounds too good to be true.
My big holdup is that I want to use the dash controls without that damn IR thing. I'll check and see if the Blaupunkt is easily adaptable and get back with everybody.

I called Balupunkt sales about 3 weeks ago and no one seems to have an exact nor an approximate sales date. Crutchfield who is an authorized Blaupunkt dealer also have no clue, but they will gladly take your money and ship it as soon as it comes in. Since you like the Blaupunkt look you should also consider Los Angeles MP71 unit which is comming out in November(right!) I am not sure if they will have these units in US. Looks exacly like a San Francisco with an MP3/WMA palyer. Here is a link to the unit on Blaupunkts German site. I will probably wait for this one!!!

That player looks pretty cool and all, but the big reason I got the 7878 is that it has everything, CD, MP3 AND XM radio ready. If you're gonna fork out the big bucks, you might as well be up to date with the tech.

Blaupunkt MP71 car mp3 player is out and available en ebay. You can get it for around $360. If you ask me that is a good price for what you are getting.. Check out its specs. Somewhere on this board I heard that these stick out a little in S2000's. So do your research before purchase. I have Blaupunkt MP41 and am very happy with it for the price. One annoyance, screen is a little bright and after shutting off the car the radio does not remember where the mp3 song stopped so it starts it from begining.
