thats pretty neat, i had no idea they did that! I'd only want the remainder of the tach to light differently though, it would make me think my vtec is putting me into hyperdrive!

It's called "rebuilding the backlight" in the instrument cluster and substituting multi-color LEDs for what's already there. Once you do that, it's easy to change the colors. But changing the backlighting is a lot of work. Maybe a week. 12 hours a day. All 7 days.

Macgyver? I know you are working on the gauge cluster anyways... Would it be possible to trigger a change in resistence to the lights, by say something like the VTEC actuator?

Man, I've really been lacking in the posts dept. these last few years... projects have fallen by the wayside as I dealt with all of the crap life throws at us. At the moment, I'm furiously trying to get my Animated Tailights ready for Fall Colors '07 in mid-October (they look awesome, by the way).

The following quote is a small snippet from the original thread I created about my dash upgrade:
[QUOTE]Q: What will it do?
A: I have tried to outline the basic functionality of the unit.
