Default Considering a Subwoofer

Hello

I've really been thinking about picking up this. Is this the best bang for your buck? I love JL's audio quality and I'm looking for something 'stealthy' to keep trunk space to a maximum. I also wouldn't mind subs behind the seats, that would be awesome. Any suggestions? Looking at a 10" / 12" (one or two, depending on price and mounting locations)

Everyone loves JL's Stealthbox but bang for the buck? No freakin' way.

There are TWO inexpensive similar boxes sold on e-bay for much less $$. I bought PD Fabrication's and mounted the same speaker JL uses in the Stealthbox (10W3v3). Should have the system powered up this weekend but I can say the box construction isn't bad at all to my eye. The box seems sturdy enough and the trunk well fit is perfect.

I did try to buy a used Stealthbox first but couldn't negotiate a reasonable price.

I like the looks of the JL, sounds good, and comes as a kit with everything cut out to the S2000 trunk specs. I wouldn't mind just picking up a stealth box and popping in my own sub, what brand would you recommend?

WLAURENT is a member of the forums here. I have his well enclosure (1cu Ft) for a 12". Incidentally, the Stereo Integrity Mag v4 ($250) is 1000W capable (500W is plenty) and - get this - has a mounting depth of <6in and a 1cu ft rec enclosure size...

But...Hey...spend 3x as much for JL stuff

I've got a photo of the PD Fabs box sitting in the trunk well in my "junk" blog, where I'm detailing my stereo install. Check out http://rovingi.wordpress.com and scroll down to the post, Bambi's Friend Thumper.

Hmm...

Go with the PD fab box then

I just don't see the point in spending all the $$$ on the JL setup that can only handle a 10" sub and approx 300W (which MIGHT be able to be heard/felt on the highway)

I used the one from "zenclosures" on eBay (for $100 shipped) and it works great. Also using a boston G2 10" and an Alpine PDX-4.150

Sounds nice
