Default Crappy FM Reception

I seem to have a rubbish FM signal on my radio.

In the same area on the same frequency, in another car the reception is fine.

Even in another S

My aerial is all plugged in correctly I have checked.

Is there some kind of booster unit on the bottom of the antenna or something, which may need replacing?

Cheers

The manual (p. 22-113 in my version) shows an antenna amplifier on the inside of the fender (the antenna screws more-or-less directly into it). It has both the antenna lead (the radio signal - round connector) and power (rectangular connector) to it. Maybe that's it, if everything's plugged in. HPH
