good one, Dave.

actually, God himself only knows where it went John. i clicked on the "email" button below your name here at s2ki. so, probably went to the email account you have tied to your account here. *shrug* it was at least a week ago, but after the SESM. so between the 12th and 20th? probably closer to the 12th.

i'm primarily looking for pricing on a MRD-M605. during the 11+ hour drive to and from the SouthEastern Super Meet, w/ the trunk stuffed full of luggage, my sub amp got to cooking pretty hot, and it triggers the thermal on my highs. the sub amp never shuts down (the bastard)...
it is well known for being a super inefficient and hot running amp, and it gets hot even idling. it's been a problem over the years, but this last trip was a final straw for me. even at moderate volumes, it can't run for more than about 4 hours if the trunk has any luggage in it (which eliminates circulation), and if it's typical a super hot summer day with the sun beating down on an empty trunk, i can have thermal shutdown problems after an hour of high volume playing too...
i'm looking for a cooler running D-class amp for my sub -- hopefully, it will generate less heat.

(edit: i would probably want to hook up the HU to amp control as well... which is it? (memory here) KCE-115 i think?)

i know that Mac.

but yeah, in case i wasn't clear... i'm wanting to replace my old AB w/ a D for the sub section.

the sub amp just generates WAY too much heat and it was clearly designed for that (b/c it doesn't shut down easily). regretfully, my highs amp does not have the same high heat stamina, and powers down far too soon.

the Alpine MRD-M605 is a mono D-class sub amp. only outputs below something like 250 hz anyway.

Dave -- ooooo.... dude. you are evil!

and cool site -- are they reasonably reliable? (for a fly by night car stereo website) they have the M605 for cheap! not to mention, they have quite a substantial selection....

I purchased a bunch of stuff from them last year, and they have been very nice to me, as well as shipping out everything pronto. I havent used them since, but I havent used anyone in a while. From my old experiences, they have been great.

cool. thanks for the feedback. i'm gonna see what John says. i'd rather support a sponsor, but if John's too busy or whatever, i'll definitely give them a close look.

I'm around...

Just truly really busy. Working my regular parttime job and starting this keep me very busy. Cuts into my free time a lot. I actually took today off from everything....

My cell phone number is 508-450-1555 save you the time of digging for it. Just call me tomorrow Philip...
