Default In dash CD changers?

Hey guys

I remember a while back aI saw a couple of in-dash CD player changers in a Crutchfield catalog. Something like a 3 CD changer in the head unit.

Anyone know if they still make them and or will they fit in the S2000?

I've gotten so used to the in-dash 6 CD changer in my IS300 that I want something similar in the S2000.

Thanks
JT

i remember seeing these things around... if they fit in a standard DIN slot, they should fit in the S.

i have no experience w/ these units though, so i cannot fairly make any recommendations.

The s2000 has only 1 din. If you do find an indash cd changer...where is the head unit goin? Just get a trunk mounted mp3 changer...save yourself the trouble.

some people were making single DIN multi-disc changers. they were headunits, radio, amp, etc. all in one unit...

i haven't seen one in a while, and only remember seeing any of them for a short period of time. my guess would be that they had reliability issues. who knows though...

i did some looking around (very quickly) and didn't see any available at the normal sites... so, it preliminarily looks like these are not out there anymore.

I remember them. Alpine had a line of them. I think if you get an MP3 indash that's simple enough. You can fit 10 albums on one cd and it's just like a changer. If you got a 10 dish trunk mounted mp3 you could have 100 albums worth of music and never have to worry about changing things. My indash Mp3 player displays the album as well as song names. Navagation is a breeze.

I believe Nakamichi currently markets several in-dash 6 disc changers.

ahhh... good call, i believe they still do. i knew this at one point, but it had slipped my mind.

still, i seem to recall they are a bit pricey. not to mention, some of them use an outboard power supply that you'll have to mount somewhere, and none of them have built in amplification.

here's their site: http://www.nakamichi.com/ and here's their US distributor site: http://www.nakusa.com/

at least in CA they seem to have dealers... http://www.nakusa.com/master/dealer/mobile_d.asp?st=CA
