Just outta curiosity, how much would u be willing to pay? You'd have to take apart the dash and mail me the cluster, HVAC, radio (and start button), defrost, and cruise switches. Also remove the center console cover and mail me the hazard and roof switches. I'll need nearly a week to do the work, then mail it back to u. I dunno if its feesable for me to do it though.... this is stirictly outta curiositly...so dont get your hopes up or anything! lol
good question.

Lets suppose you create a 'Blue-ing yer S2k for Dummies' manual to aid in the deconstruction and reconstruction.

I dunno, $500? $600? It wouldn't be a bad hobby to take up on the side. Set yer price, do one a week or so in your spare time. Setup a schedule, 3 per month kinda thing. You could probably make some decent $$ on the side.

I would be willing to pay full retail markup. Cost of materials plus 100% (assuming materials around $200-250).

Yeah, a DIY would be AMAZING! I understood the making of the board. Do you modify the stock board to the new board? Maybe a before and after pic? Or are they new boards? How does it hook up to the electrical system? Is it still fully functional (mileage readings, trip meter, and dimmer)?

There is no stock board, just 4 regular bulbs
Maybe a before and after pic?
Dont have before pics
Or are they new boards?
Its a newly created board
How does it hook up to the electrical system?
Soldered to the back of the OEM panel
Is it still fully functional (mileage readings, trip meter, and dimmer)?
yes, the electornics are unchanged, just the light source.

Wow seriously this is the best thing ever ... I would pay for you to do that to my setup, or I'd be glad to do it myself if you gave us a D.I.Y.

So I'm guessing that we can't use 4 blue LEDs? I'd imagine they wouldn't be bright enough.
Anyone know what size bulb the stock cluster uses?

Thanks r_duff.

A few more Q's...

1) Do you have the scale template you used for the toner transfer method? Any chance I can get a copy?

2) Any chance of getting a pic of how you attached the boards, and where you tapped into the power?

3) Did you have any problems aligning the front and rear conductive paths? Since the board is not translucent, if you are off by a bit and miss a connection, it will all be screwed up.

I think I can make this a few-weekends project if I can ge that template.
