I had some fun yesterday evening and today building a prototype replacement panel for the dash remote controls. I also documented the whole thing as it progressed, please click the picture if you want more pictures and a short story about the project. Then tell me what you think!

BM,

Looks nice and clean...do you find the joystick getting in the way of your hands when steering, or is it far enough away?

It looks tighter in the picture than it is in real life, there is almost an inch of space between my hand on the wheel and the joystick. I've only had time for a couple of shorter drives, but it seems to work fine, have not touched the remote unintentionally yet.

The ingeniousness of this board always amazes me...

The joystick sticks out a bit far for my tastes but nice job nonetheless!

I think you matched the paint pretty well.

It's kindof funky lookin', but it's got a lot of good function, good idea.

Now all you need is a jimmy-hat for the joystick and a Hesel knob sock for the shifter...two phalic symbols in one manly machine.

Ha! That was from a discussion about what to put on Rick's windscreen. Originally he had the very nice laser-engraved S2000 logo and asked what people would want. Things as usual quickly got out of hand with different things from 'Keep on Trucking' to my heads-up display of 9000 revs to show the person you just passed. Taken out of context i'm sure there are some even stranger posts or pics on this board...
