Default DCI not working properly...HELP!

I just installed a Alpine 9886 with modifry dci...the dci works fine for the radio controls(vol, preset change, band, etc) but it does not work to change the track on a cd. Any idea what is wrong with this?? Also the mute button does not work on either..thanks in advance for the input guys. I would contact bob directly but he did not respond to my email when I ordered the dci so I am coming here in hopes to find out the solutions.

Are you running the IR DCI or wired? Also, have you checked the .pdf file on his site to make sure you have the settings correct on it?

At least on my Pioneer, you use the round button to change CD tracks - not the CH button. Works on mine, but I dunno about Alpine.

the CD track up/down is done by holding down the big MODE button
and then simultaneously hitting vol up/down - this does a seek when
listening to the radio. Does it work for the radio, but not the CD?
(you mention preset up/down, but that's a different button combo)

if you haven't seen them already, here are Modifry's help pages:

I tried all the combos and they work on the radio but nothing but volume works for the cd player!!! WTF!!! And modifry isn't returning my emails!!!! Do you think something is wrong with the DCI unit itself???

the DCI doesn't know if you're playing the radio or the CD player - it
issues the same command to the headunit based on the buttons you've
pushed, and the headunit decides what to do, so... no, it doesn't sound
like a DCI problem, more likely a headunit problem.
Do you have a hand-held remote for the headunit? does it behave properly?
