Default DCI upgrades now available for existing users

As discussed in previous posts I am now providing a "DCI Upgrade" service. Current users of the DCI (sold by Lucid) are eligible to participate in this plan and get a DCI with new features, for a small fee of course.

I have posted all the details here but the basic exchange plan is like this:

If you are a current owner of a working DCI I will send you a DCI of the same make (Sony or Multi-IR) with new features of your choice added. You can swap the re-worked DCI for your existing unit (it just plugs in), verify it works, then return your original DCI to me so I can re-work it for another customer. To alleviate your concerns over getting someone else's used DCI I will warrant re-worked DCI's for 6 months.

In exchange for this service you agree to send me, in advance, a $20 re-work charge plus shipping fees and you agree to return your original working DCI within 14 days.

Examples of new features available:
  • Add SCV on/off control - gives you manual on/off control of the auto-volume feature
  • Fix Sony DCI so it doesn't come out of mute if you are using the SCV feature
  • Add Bass/treble control to Sony DCI
You can even get custom programming (within limits):
  • Add SCV on/off control - but change the default state (whether it remembers the last setting or always starts up On or Off)
  • Request custom SCV speed intervals
  • Move button functions around

If you have any questions after reading the information on my web site, please post them here so everyone can benefit from the information.

Your "here" link gives me a 404 error. I love my DCI but new features are always welcome. Hmm, turning off SCV would allow me (or a passenger) to continue searching my iPod as I drive...

with this thread 5-years old, i'd venture to guess that the improvements described in the original post have already been incorporated into your DCI

Good suggestions! I had thought of the one-setting-off but not the Mute idea. Thanks Mike!
