Default DCU compatible with Sony MEX-5DI HU???

hi all...

has anyone tried using s2kman's DCU with the Sony MEX-5DI??? this is the one with the tft screen on the front. here's a link to one that's selling on ebay right now.

i like this head unit...i'm thinking about getting it if i can get it for way less than the $999 ESRP...like how much it is on ebay!

thanks!!!

I'm pretty sure it will work with Scotts DCU. It's an awesome deck, but I would avoid buying it on ebay or anywhere where you can't get a full warranty. Sony's haven't been known for reliablity and this is one of their most complex decks to date. You may save a few hundred dollars but you can be out 600-700 if it stops working.

I think it's a no-go for the DCU because this deck doesn't have the plug for it. I checked both Sony's site and Crutchfield and both list this unit as having a "wireless" remote option but not the "wired" option.

no it will not. That model uses the wireless rotary control as an option instead of the RMX4S.

It uses this one instead:

My mistake about the DCU, I apologize. I do believe that if you're paying over 300 for a deck you should have some sort of warranty to fall back on.

I agree with lucid. If you're going to invest that much in deck, I wouldn't do it through ebay where there is no warranty.
