Default Deprogramming OEM optional remote?

Here what happened. At HIN in Philly, my girlfriend locked her key and remote in her trunk. She had her valet key in her ignition, but locked the glove box. To open the trunk I programmed my remote to her car.
Now I can't deprogram my remote. Everytime I hit my remote it locks and unlocks both our cars. I tried programming just her remote over again for just her car and than mine for my car, but still my remote opens both.
Anyone else have any ideas?

The remote is a transmitter, not a reciever. So the car is actually responsible and not the remote.

I'm sure someone knows how to fix it, or try calling a dealership.

You almost had it. You should have kept going. The receiver can store up to 3 separate transmitters. When you program a 4th, the 1st one is kicked out. Do the programming using the girlfriends remote one more time to see if your transmitter quits working. Do it one more time if it still works.

So basically the car will store the same remote more than once? So should I keep doing the same one until it knocks mine off?

In "theory", yes, but in reality, who knows? Give it a try. It's only a few minutes of your time. If it doesn't work, then go to the dealer and ask them what to do.

actually when i was programming a new remote, the old one stopped working.

I used the instructions from h-and-a. When the car goes into "learn" mode, you hit the buttons on all the remotes you want to use. In my case, I didn't hit the button on the old remote and it got deleted.

You might want to program your wife's 2nd remote again as well just to be safe. I bet that one got removed as well.
