Default Did the shop wire my amplifier correctly?

Hey so recently I had an audio shop install and wire my woofer amp for me. I was charged for installation as well as new wires through the door loom.

I opened up my doors to check some things today and I found out nothing seemed to have been touched. I have crossovers mounted in my doors running a passive setup, but it seems like the tiny 20 gauge or whatever oem wiring is still being fed into the crossover.

My question is, when you install an amp for the woofers, how does the wiring go? From my understanding before, isn't the amp supposed to be in between the headunit and the crossover? The amp receives power from the headunit, then feeds it to the crossover, which then feeds it to the woofer and tweeter.

Is there another way the shop could have wired it while still using the factory wires in the doors? I mean the sound does seem to be a lot better, but I don't want to burn out the stock wiring, and I do not wish to be charged for something that was not done.

Ok, so just to be clear, you have 2 amps? 1 powering the tweeters in your doors, and 1 powering the woofers in your doors?

And you recently paid a shop to install that 2nd amp. So what they did is run wires from the HU to the amp, and then from the amp to the crossover, and then you have wires coming from the crossovers to your tweeter/woofer in that door.

If they charged you for new wires through the door loom, and the crossovers are still showing the factory wires on the input side, then yes, you got punk'd.

Sorry about being unclear. I only have 1 amp for my tweeters and woofers. The second amp is for my subwoofer only.

And yes I can definitely see the original wiring leading into the doors.

But are the factory wires actually hooked up to your crossovers? They could've just left the old wire in so you could take it back to stock (or they were lazy ).

Yes the factory wires are the only wires going through that hole to my crossovers. Unless they managed to run the new wire through some other hole and keep it hidden from view.. -_-.

It is possible. I'd look at the actual crossover terminals to make sure.

They S wired it. Its when they run spk wire from the amp and tap in behind the deck to the factory wire so they dont have to run wires into the door. I did mine the same way. What kind of amp and spks are you running that is providing 150 rms at 4ohms?

Doesn't that still mean the power is going through the oem wiring before reachimg the crossover?
And I'm running alpine f300 bridged.
