It has a wooden plate holding it in that is screwed tot he wooden subfloor. I spent around 3K for everything. It tookabout a week to make everything. I have some grilles that are removable so I can put some stuff in there but this is my third car so it is only used for cruising and having fun on the weekends.

The rattles primarily occur at the convertible top well/tub panel. My installer removed that panel and did a couple things to it:

1. Punch holes in it to allow for more bass to vent through to the cabin. This panel is the only panel between the trunk and the cabin. To hide the holes, he wrapped the entire panel in grill-cloth.

2. Cover the edges of this panel to eliminate rattling.

Here are some pics of this panel wrapped in grill cloth:

This has the added benefit of protecting your convertible top since the grill-cloth is a lot softer material and will protect your rear window from scratching/scuffing etc.

Hope this helps!

I did the same to mine but the secret compartment rattles when the top is up and the trnk lid also rattles. there is nothing really I can do other than turn it down though. The air pressure in the trunk is pushing the lid off the seal. its pretty cool but sounds bad when you are standing behind the car. sounds good in the car.

Anybody ever try mounting free air woofers in the panel that separates the trunk from the cabin?

Yes the air space is ideal!

They sound great, I have 2 other grilles in the making one of the sweeping S and a just plain square one. The bars are stainless steel.

The above installations are impressive. My wife and I did ours. We took it to Freemans Car Stereo to have it done and they charged us $400! for a custom install. Nothing matched up and when we decided to upgrade and add some components, we did the entire install over again ourselves. Check it out...

By the way...I likes the honda symbol cut out above. That's cool as hell!!
