Default Do you like Alpine?

hey there, i would just like to get a count of how many people here like alpine.

through my experiences, i hate alpine with a passion. as far as hu's, anything that came out after the bass engine sucks.

as far as speakers, the F1 Status speakers arent even their own creation. but nowadays, who does make their own product with their own R&D. not many.

with the in dash monitors, the slide/flip out motor breaks a lot more often than they should.

with more and more people these days changing their minds alpine, how many of you still think they are good?

Well....Ive had pretty much most headunit brands over the years, and like alpine more than the rest. The only "main" brand Ive never had was eclipse.

I dont like pioneer, way too digital for me.
Sony, not a fan.
Panasonic's are nice....

etc.

I like the simplicity and function of Alpine. Plus Ai-Net is great.

Alpine amps are good quality as well, they dont put out tons of power, but they are nice and clean for most applications.

Ive never had any problems with Alpine products.

I just bought my first alpine last week. Alpine is about the only brand I saw that I would have in my car. As far as how it works, time will tell. I have had lots of pioneers and sonys in the past but I absolutely hate the way they look now. too much bling bling out there for me now.....even my alpine which is silver would be better in plain old black.

I was originally going to get the Alpine 9831, but I went with the Clarion 745 b/c it also came with the Sirius receiver and was cheaper at the time. However, I would buy the Alpine if I did it over again. I'm happy with my Clarion, but I like the looks of the Alpine more, even though my Clarion has a few better features.

ok my turn.

having to own three alpines, 1 pioneer, 1 clarion, and other gizmos, i can say i had the most trouble with alpines. i will never again buy an alpine headunit unless they can show me quality.

please alpine, stop concentrating on making las vegas scheme headunits and use the money on research and development. Oh why can't we have the older alpine qualities..

Again, about eclipse....
Ive never used it, so I cant comment in detail. But they seem to be very pioneerish......Im 100% certain the SQ and overall quality of the unit is fantastic....but it just seems too gimmiky to me. I could be wrong though.....Ill give them a shot eventually.

gimmiky would be alpine.

the eclipse seems to have not "too much" features.

I can't even find a darn thing on an alpine deck when i need it most , therefore boo to alpine
