Default Do you regret not getting kit to retain factory

Im about to buy a high end Clarion cd/mp3 deck for my s2. Ill be upgrading the door speakers at the same time of install. Now my question is:

Do you regret not buying the kit to keep your oem dash controlls or are you just fine with opening the door and doing it that way?

thanks,

Kenny

Nope...it's more natural for me to control the stereo at the stereo itself and with my right hand instead of left...

When I bought my car...it already had an after market deck. And the dash controls are lost.

I've thought about getting a dash control kit for it, but it isn't that big of a deal. I guess never having it and losing it isn't that bad. I can't say I'd feel the same if I had it and lost it.

My radio door stays open when ever I am driving. I have the face plate tilted out a little anyway, so I couldn't close it if I wanted.

I would hate to not have one because I'm often needed to flick the volume with my pinky while driving too fast to take the hands off the wheel. Easier to flick my finger than reach over by the console.

Plus modifry's speed controlled volume is awesome

Sorry I didn't answer your question, but just a few reasons I like having my DCI.

I never used it even when the factory deck was installed... I've always naturally controlled my music with my right hand... if it was steering wheel mounted however, that would be different

I have modifry's unit and I don't even use so I wish I never bought it. I also bought the speed control I removed it because when searching through the ipod menu if you slow down or speed up you have to start all over again.

Thats the way to GO : )

I did it..and wow!
No bulky aux wire going to a ipod Blahh

The DCI would be nice to have because I believe you can control via right hand of left pinky...its the best.

Since i had my controls then lost it, I do find myself trying to lower the vol with my pinky but its dont work

Get the DCI...if your bored you use your right hand or when you are on the Throttle you can use your pinky
