Thumbs up Does the S2K have room for a decent sound system?

I want to know from an actual owner if the car has room for a good sound system. It is REALLY small, so I'm hesitant to buy this toy myself. Just tell me what kind of system you have in your 2000 and if it's possible to fit some 12"s in there somewhere (haven't seen the trunk yet). Other than the size and that shitty torque, I think the car is amazing. Test-drove one the other day

Thanks.

shitty torque huh? hehe...

i guess nobody here is willing to waste one minute of their time to reply because its such a stupid question to begin with, but i'll answer it. (no offense)

any car has room for a good sound system.
although it is really small, you can fit at least 2 12s in the trunk.
use the search button and you will come with good many pictures.

try asking again after your searches and im sure people would be more than happy to at least give you a smile. good luck

Nope, this car doesnt have any room for a system.

And if you think I made a nice trunk useless by putting a system in it, think again.

I'd have to agree....You can do pretty much whatever you (or your budget) will allow in this car. I wanted to make sure I had trunk space when I did my system so my amps, changer and cap are all hidden behind the panel.

i like the way you've done your corners on the side behind your flat amp rack thing. very professional looking

if you have any close-ups, i'd be interested in seeing them .

Do you mean where the hinges go into the trunk area? If so I'll take a few and post them up

Dear synce,

Yes it does. It is not going to come cheap however.

I have installed an Alpine9820XM head unit, Boston Acoustic Pro60 6.5in speakers in the front and I have purchased S-Pods and installed Boston FC420's in the S-Pods (see S-Pod FAQ). I also purchased a Modifry Mult-DCI for the Alpine HU to allow me to use the dash controls as well as added functions. It has a speed control sensor that increases the volume at user selected speeds. I have a JL Audio 300/4 amp in the trunk mounted vertical to the left of the spare as well as an Alpine CD changer installed where the factory one would be.

The sound is awesome even with the top down going 70+.

JL Audio also has a stealth subwoofer that fits perfectly in to floor of the trunk. That would require either a second amp or a larger amp and some modifications to the trunk would be in order.

I also have an interface that allow me to plug my iPod in and it is recognized on the HU as a second cd changer.

Hope this helps?

The car is made for high rpm's. It's not fun til you hit VTEC.

Also on audio equipment, this room in the panels behind the seat for small 5.25in speakers. I didn't like that option because the seat muffles the sound.
