Default DRL and HID

I want to install a HID kit to my high beams but I'm not sure if this is possible, because of the DRL.
Has anybody tried this? If I install them, would it work?

You would have to disable the DRL. The DRL will not work. Just take out the DRL fuse.

Yup I dont think there is any way around that. For all my cars I had the same thing happen - its no big deal.

I just wanted to add a short FYI: If you take out the DRL fuse, the DRL light will only come up while the lights are off. It'll disappear when you light up your low beams. Maybe this info can be useful for someone...

Hi,

My first post here since I am a new owner of an '01 S2K.
About the DRL, the previous owner of my car installed the HID kit and I was wondering why my DRL dash indicator is always on. From what I understand is that the indicator should turn off once park brake is released and DRL's come on or full headlights are turned on. Is this correct? Can I assume the DRL indicator is staying on because the DRL's are not compatible with the HID's?

Thanks

BTW My first convertible and it's awesome !!!!
