Thumbs up DRL light?

Hey all, so i just installed new sylvania Silverstar high beam bulbs on MY07 because i didn't like the halogen look of the old bulbs...after getting the annoying little suckers in i have a bit of small issue

My DRL operate, but the "DRL" light no longer appears...i don't know what happened, anyone else have this issue??

The DRL lamp is driven directly from the DRL control module, so if it's not working then it looks like either a bad/loose indicator bulb or the DRL module is on the fritz.

Are you sure both high beams are on? I think if one of them is off (burned out or loose in the socket) the DRL light won't come on. I'm just guessing this is how it operates based on the fact that the DRL module is connected to the center point of the series-connected high beams and the only reason I can see for that would be to verify that both bulbs are good.

what is your bulbs watt???
I notice that if I were to use like a 100watt bulbs the DRL won't work..
but a 56watt or something near stock bulbs then it will work.

as i said, my DRL are working..its just that the "DRL" light no longer appears on my dash...instead, now i have a slightly dimmer high beam light appear on my dash

..again, the problem is not with the actual lights..but simply the lights on my dash

guess i'm going to the dealer..btw, anyone thinking of switching the bulbs out like me for a whiter DRL don't waist your time, its not really worth the 40 bucks for the silverstar bulbs..i guess it might work if you got expensive HID bulbs but i dunno

Wait, the DRL light on the dash is only supposed to light up if there's a problem with the system. It is not an indicator for when they are in use.

The car in stock form is suppose to have a dimmed high beam light when the DRL is on. At least that is how my car and the owner's manual says. I'm curious now of what your dash was showing before you switched.

..wow ok guys, so i guess i had an issue with the DRLs before i even messed with them??? I read my manual and it says that for the 07s the DRL light comes up to let the driver aware that they are on..and it consistently showed up the minute i put the car in gear, but now that i've switched the lights, it no longer shows up...I'm soooo confused its not a major deal, its just something i noticed, i guess ill take it to a dealer this weekend to figure out exactly what the deal is...if anyone with an 07 cares to chime in it'd be appreciated
