Default Dynaudio

does anyone have any experience with dynaudio car speakers? i ordered the mkII 220 a 5 3/4" pair of components. is the tweeter harsh? and how are the mids, i used to have a set of mbquarts and the tweeter seemed too harsh. If anyone has heard any of dynaudio's speakers give me your opinion of them.

I have Dynaudio's in my S2000!! I wouldn't have anything else!!!
They are very smooth compared to most of the speakers out there.

Just make sure to give them enough power. They need more than most to sound good.

I'm running a Brax x2400 which I think is 100 watts per channel into 4 channels.
The speakers can handle a lot more power than that!

I have the 3-way system in my '02. The 7inch woofer is in the door, and I have custom kick panels for the 3inch mid-bass and tweeter. The woofer actually measures out to be a 6.5inch, but most 6.5inch woofers are actually smaller than listed as well.
The sound is awesome, and the kicks don't have to be that big. I was able to retain my dead pedal. Can't use it ase much as I'd like, but it's still there. I have a JL Audio 3004 powering it. I've thought about a sub, but I really don't need one.

The shop that installed the speakers simply put a spacer in the door to push the woofer out. It was the easiest part of the install for them. It just takes a little time. The spacers are made of MDF.
Sorry, no pictures.

Oh, about the sound. The tweeters were a bit harsh at first, but you can adjust the db level to one of three settings: 0, -2, -4 dbs. Mine are set at -4. Also, give the speakers about 30 hours to break in before you try to tune the system too much. And finally, the more you use them, the better they sound. A friend of mine had them and kept telling me this. I didn't believe him until I had them for a while. He was right.
They're not a "cure all" for loud, wailing music with the top down at highway speeds, but nothing will be in a convertible without adding lots of weight. I can tell you though, that my car was the stereo for my younger brother's bachelor party, and I didn't even play them as loud as I could.
