Unless your going to custom mount that somewhere it will not fit in the stock HU location. You can make it fit but it will require some fiberglassing and cutting of the dash a little plus you'll lose the center vents in front of the shifter.
a buddy of mine has one, it is an awesome unit and the picture quality is top notch. the AVX series are more orientated towards sound quality, where as the AVN units are more for navigation.
let me know if you have any questions, i am quite familiar with the AVX and AVN units.

Do it!! That HU rocks. It's my favorite nav, hands down -- so much faster than the AVIC-N1 (?) that is the big seller at the moment.
lets not spread misinformation now(hahhahahha)... the AVX does not have built in nav. i believe you're referring to the AVN2454. which is no more, 2 new models, AVN5435 and AVN____, cant remember the new model number.

Heh, thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize they changed the lineup (or the [sweet] website) for 2005. I have absolutely no idea about the HU that is mentioned here, I got the model numbers backwards.
Wasn't the 2494 a 2004 model with nav? Why don't these guys use names like everyone else? Maybe the UltraNav 9000 or something
I don't post much, mostly a lurker but i thought I'd chime in about this head unit.
I've had it in my 05 rsx for about 6 months now. The picture quality is top notch but as far as sound quality its one of the worst head units i've ever owned. The fact that it has no rca outs makes it less then ideal for building a quality sounding system around. What Eclipse was thinking is beyond me.
Other then the rca thing its a great unit, the built in hard drive is great and the fact that you can record any song, radio or cd, is great.
I do plan on moving it to the dash in the s2000 within the next 2 months or so. I've had it layed out since december, just waiting for my back to get better. But like darkknight1999 said it will not fit where the stock head unit is without major modification and moving the airbag sensor. Even then i think it will hit the shifter when it folds out. It folds out about 5" so the dash is your best bet.
