ECT dash gauge not working correctly
I'm using the Hondata Kpro & ever since I installed it my ECT gauge on the dash was only lighting up 1 bar all the time, so I sent my unit in for warranty.
Hondata sent it back saying it checked out OK. However now the ECT gauge works intermittently when the car is running. It seems to always works correctly when the car is not running, but the ignition is on.
I called Hondata & they said it's the wiring or the sensor & I told them that doesn't make sense because the data logging temps always work. He responded by telling me the data logging uses 1 ECT sensor & the gauge uses a different ECT sensor. I thought they use the same sensor.
So, is that true that they use seperate sensors?
If so which pin on the ecu is the ECT sensor that the gauge reads from?
I figure if it's the sensor or wiring I will be able to tell by checking the voltage coming from the sensor to the ecu at the pin. When the gauge quits working I should see the voltage drop off. If I see the voltage stay the same then it has to be the Kpro itself.
I know the datalogging uses pin C26.
Thanks guys,
Ed
