Error 11 - Pioneer Deh-P7300
Anyone ever had this problem, or more importantly ... know how to solve it? I'm bummed because I just installed rear speakers in my S, and a few hours later the CD player went. I've tried regular CDs, CDRs and CDRWs. I even picked up one of those CD cleaning disks, no good. The CD goes in, but nothing is being read.
Thanks,
Dan

According to Pioneer Error 11 could be a number of things. 1. Dirty or scratched disk(doesn't sound like your problem)
2. Electrical or mechanical problem. The manual tells you to switch to a different source, then back to CD. If it still doesn't work, I'd lookup your warranty information.

I tried switching before, many times. Between CD's and also CD/radio. Still no good. I think either the motor or the eye is busted. I'm guessing that my best bet would be to keep the HU and just buy either a 6 or 12 disk changer (unless someone has a better idea), being the HU was around 300 and it's much cheeper for the changer. As for the warrenty, it's expired.
have you tried resetting the head unit? there's usually a little button that hides behind the faceplate that reboots the head.
if you're really daring, pull the head unit, open it up, and use some canned air to clean it out.
can you hear the motor spin up on the cd player? usually if you listen closely you can hear it running...

Feeling a little balsy, I removed the HU, pulled a bunch of screws out and got to the eye ... cleaned it off w/ some dust off, still no good. Guess the eye is SHOT. And the CD was spinning ... so I guess I'm going to need to pick up a cd changer which will work w/ the head unit. Can anyone link me to some interesting places in the S to mount the changer? I think if I remember correctly someone had it in their secret compartment .... and a few even under the seat.
Thanks,
Dan

check the installs thread -- there are a few changers in there. several people have mounted them under the seats as well as to the left of the spare.
give the search a hit... it should bring up some useful stuff. if you can't find anything, repost and i'll make some efforts to look.
