Default Excess Dynamat

Amazon Prime makes it so easy... Over bought Dynamat Extreme and have way more than I need. Was planning on just doing the doors for my new set of components, when I miss-ordered this: http://www.amazon.com/Dynamat-10455-...dp/B00020CB2S/

Nine 18x32 sheets. Other than the doors of course, where else could I put it? I love the sound of the S2000 engine, so hood is out. I would love to reduce road noise from the rear tires when the top is up... but not sure where it should go to do this.

I saw that someone lined their transmission tunnel, this could be really nice, but not something I'm ready to tackle. Any other places you all have it installed that seemed effective?

I guess it depends upon how willing you are to take apart your car.

I'd say the trunk is a good place to start, including the spare tire area. From there I'd probably pull up the carpet and lay it down under the seats and in the footwells.

I'm planning on ordering some alongside my new component setup and I'm probably going to go "all out" sound deadening.

I'm comfortable with any of the trimming, trunk, carpet ect. Wouldn't be brave enough to disassemble anything mechanical...at least not just for deadening.

We'll see what I come up with this weekend, and how far what I bought will go. Where in the trunk would you put it? Don't have a sub yet, but considering a JL Stealthbox in the future.

if you plan on eventually adding a sub in the trunk then i would sound deaden the trunk lid, soft top tray is also notorious for rattling.

How do I get to, or where exactly is the 'soft top tray'? Do I need to remove the top to get there?

All great suggestions guys!

its the plastic tray behind the roll hoops above the gas tank that holds the soft top when its folded down.

There's a bunch of foam insulation around it, should I rip it off and try to reach in and put some deadener there? Or maybe best to remove the fold down top and then take the tray out?

peel the insulation off and stick small patches of deadener all over the flat areas, then use some spray adhesive and glue the foam insulation over the sound deadener. no need to remove the tray, you can reach it from the trunk.
