This may sound stupid but if your leaving the mold in the well way did you even make a bottom section? I thought you wanted to make the box removable?

i'd vote that making a bottom section was a good move -- it allows for custom look (ie. sanding and painting the bottom), plus is going to be more airtight than the well would have been alone.

I was hoping to be able to remove the top plate w/ subs for those few times it might be advantageous(track, living out of my car ). Knight, I will probably glass around and over the top plexiglass piece after all as you had suggested.

Yes, the bottom is made for looks, but I was also worried about hearing "tinny-ness" from the exposed sheet metal. Was that not a legitmate concern?

Look at picture #6 though... why worry about leaving room for the wiring and then fiberglassing that part into a part that you can't remove to run the wiring??

Mines a custom sealed box and its pretty custom... all FG... top and bottom...




I must be missing something here...
