Default Finding a 12v source that's only hot when the headlights are turned on

For the life of me I cannot find any instruction on this. I've looked all over the forum and googled, but I cannot find ONE place that tells me what wire in the dash or console would be good to run my autometer gauges off of. All I want is the gauge's lighting to be on when the headlights are on. Can anyone PLEASE help me! Sorry if this is a common thread but I've seriously been searching everywhere. Thanks.

Would you be willing to have them on when your running lights are on or are you just looking for headlights only?

Headlights-Lo BLUE/RED (-) LIGHT SWITCH HARNESS (with your ignition wiring under the steering column)
Parking Lights RED/BLACK (+) AT KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE

Module 1 KEYLESS ENTRY IS LOCATECD BEHIND THE START BUTTON OF THE VEHICLE

Awesome, thanks. Running lights are fine. Just wanted them to come on anytime i turn the switch. They're for my boost and oil pressure gauges, and judging from your username I'd assume you have around the same thing. What did you go with? and did you just use those piggy back side wire clips?

Yeah you can use those (t-taps are what most people call them), or you can strip back and splice in and tape up, either will be fine. Splicing in line just allows you to know a 100% that you have a good connection if you are having problems with things working.

Edited for grammer.

Are you planning to use a fuse? Why not just tap a fuse in the fuse box?

there are 3 unused power studs in the fuse box, one is constant, one switched and other i think is lights, use a fuse holder and female connector, it will push on and wire from there,

What T-fitting are you looking for, becareful all fittings are metric pipe thread....and most aftermarket sending units are normal pipe thread....

and you can not tap into factory oil pressure wire.
