Yeah you'll be really hard press to fit a double DIN HU in that same space. Your going to have to cut the dash to crap to fit it in that space. Just get a single DIN HU and add a screen in the dash or sunvisors.

If you work at Circuit City... your not in the moblie electronics install bay are you?

There are a few but not many people put them there. Most people cut the dash. I didn't want to cut my dash so I put mine here:

You might be able to fit a that same screen 5.8 in size into the visors but it will have to be completely custom. How can it been against the law not to have a rear view mirror? Trailer trucks don't or can't for that matter.

The MOT laws for cars are pretty stringent over here, trucks are in a different class and have their own set of laws and trailers require big huge mirrors sticking out the side and stuff. Replacing the rearview mirror with a screen would definitely make a car illegal over here though

I guess ill just keep looking for a set of premoulded ones that would fit

A double din setup does work in our cars with a little modification. I saw an S2k at Sport Compact Nights last year that had this done in the original deck location. You do loose your plastic door, but i thought the vents stayed intact. I'm gonna see if i can dig up some pics.
