Default focal or jl audio speakers? what to get?

So Im planning on installing custom speaker brackets behind my seats in the roll bars. Im looking at either getting the JL audio c2600x coaxle speaker or the focal 165 cvx coaxle speaker. Im a bit of an audio newb and would love to hear your opinions on which one would be the better bang for buck speaker.

thanks guys

i personally prefer Focal, but i think rear speakers are a waste of money better off using that money for a nice set of components up front.

We had a set of c2's beat out a set of focal 165s in a sound quality competition. Go JL

How much did they win by? I ended up gettng the focals, onl because ihave the same speakers up front so I decided the over all sound would be better if I had the same speakers front and back.

I'd love to get splits for the front but I don't want to cut holes in my doors. I've found the focals to have great quality for what they are. My buddy has the c2s as his rear speakers though and they sounded great

You just can't go wrong with Focal. Great speakers.

Eh, there entry level stuff is crap to have the Focal name on it.

I don't remember what the point difference was but I remember it was really close. Probably just a point or two difference.

Are you saying the cvx's are crap? I've found them pretty good for their price range

Just for money, I would have gone a different route. But sound quality is all personal preference which is why sound quality competitions are so bias sometimes. If you like they way they sound they I"m sure you will be happy with them

as I said. Im a bit of a sound system novice, so I just went with the advice that I was given from a few guys at a few differant stores. although I know you can never 100% trust people who are trying to sell you somthing. what speakers in that price bracket would you recommend for my next audio set up?

i think this:

is the most important factor if you're adding rear speakers - keep the "voicing" the same.

as for one speaker "beating" another in a numerical scoring... while yes, there are some "bad" sounding speakers and some "great" sounding ones, generally within similar price ranges it comes down to personal preference. if you like the sound, great. if not, let us know what you don't like and hopefully someone can point you to another option that sounds "different" in the way you'd prefer.

one example - what one person may find "bright" and"detailed" another may find "sharp" or "harsh". thus, the second person might like a speaker that's "warm" or "smooth" that the first person could find "boring" and "lifeless"... it's all just very subjective.
