StevenT,

Well after spending the whole damn weekend installing my Focal Utopia 165Ws and the PPI amp, I can't wipe the off my face (however when the VISA statement comes that should have some impact ).

I have been told that they can take around 40 listening hours to 'bed in', but they seem to already sound pretty damn good anyway. In the end I had to use a fairly big speaker mount (18mm MDF ) but I think the results are great.

Thanks again for your help.

Alister,

When are you going into business to undertake this upgrade for other S2000 owners in Melbourne ?

hiho-silver,

After the beating that my hands went through doing my own install, I can't see myself going into business just to do it all over again. Could give a couple of tips though...

Ah, the joy of a great car with great sound; close to the joy of sex and on a good day, perhaps better

Glad it turned out so great.

I think you mean on a bad day, perhaps better (ie a bad day for the sex)...

At this stage the tweeters are on the dash, and attached using double sided tape. The Utopia tweeters come with two different mounting 'adaptors', a flat/flush one and an angled one. I am using the angled ones. I could have screwed them into the door trims or dash, but at this stage I will just leave them where they are.

In regards to photos, I will try to get hold of a digital camera and take a few pictures.

I originally had tweeters (not the focals) in the "A" Pillars but the imaging was terrible even with crossovers set to the 6 db gain reduction setting.

I now have the Focal tweeters (which are the largest diameter car tweeters I have ever seen, BTW) flush mounted in the doors just above the lower section (where the 6.5"'s mount) and just to the front of them.

Also, I finally got my A/D/S 4" coaxials today and hope to have them in by the weekend. We'll see how much better they are than the Polk 4" I have in the rear now.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I was really thinking of an A pillar mount myself, I think I'll have to bite the bullet and flush mount them in the door panels though...
