No, you cant do it. It can be done, but since you are asking the question, you dont have enough electrical knowledge to accomplish it. Our turn signal bulbs are single filament, meaning, they are on or off. You would need to rewire the circuitry to become dual filament...meaning, they are on, and then when you hit the turn signal/hazards, they will flash even brighter, which isnt an easy thing to do. Just get some brighter bulbs for the parking lights if you want that effect, LEDs perhaps?

The Cadillac and Corvette use them as DRL. Many GM vehicles do that now.

actually you can do it with a simple relay.

the relay shows 12v to the lights all the time (via IGN power), and the flash's 12v pulse from your turn signals would cause the relay to open and interrupt the singal to the lights. Thus making them blink.

they would not get brighter when flashing. they would instead turn off and blink on/off.

I agree that the bright amber GM turn signals are freaking hot. On my last car i installed projector style turn signals. They looked freaking bad ass. I wish i knew now what i know then. Your idea would have been great on my old car.

This is the exact same thing i was thinking.

NFRs, thanks for merging.

Ah I see. I am an ap1 owner so it's not quite so simple to see a difference (infact I ususally drive with the parking lights on if it is light out but misting or similar).

My bad.

I am sure it can done with an AP1. How do the turnsignals/parklights work on an ap1? (i dont know since i have an ap2)

i'll post up a diagram this weekend of how to install a relay in order to achive the desired effect for an AP2.
