what can i do about this? is there a trim piece i can buy?

 

My headunit (pioneer) came with a trim piece to cover that up.

 

my Alpine did too.

 

Did u buy the headunit used? B/C that radio comes with a trim plate that goes around the radio and fills in that gap.

 

The trim plate doesn't always fit. The trim piece for my Eclipse HU doesn't fit. I just close the radio door and tell people the trim piece was left out for weight savings

 

nah bought it from best buy.

 

It should have come with one then. You should go back and talk to them about it.

 

If it doesnt fit then you take a dremel to it/file it until it does fit...
Make sure you dont file off the tabs that keep it in place.

Yes you look in your box, if its not there then you go back to Best Buy and bitch at someone.
To my knowledge ALL headunits new come with one. Havent bought one that didnt and I have bought JVC, Eclipse, Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer, and a few others.
