If you have a 12v remote, it is easy (my Genie opener had a 12v remote). All I did was soldered a jumper wire across the switch in the remote. Then soldered wires on the battery terminals on the remote. Then just spliced those wires into the high beam wires.

Heres the instructions I used

Man I would love to have this done but I don't posess any electronic skills at all, and don't think my dealership would help me with this mod

Here's a question... the circuit is closed when the high-beams are on, and open when they're off?

So will I be constantly transmitting while driving with the high-beams on?

Yup, but it shouldn't be any problem.

I was going to do this until someone (here) suggested that most openers that have those visor clips can be put under the dash just above your left knee. I'd had mine on top of the dash before; moving it down below decreased the range somewhat but also disappaeared it. So I'm happy with no rewiring. HPH

Harry, great writeup!

This should get linked in the FAQ. It has the link to Modifry's solution, and Harry's.

man, that's a pimping mod.

i'll stick with using a big black binder clip to clip my garage opener to under my dash by my left knee. works great for me. no clearance issues, either.
