I dont care if it has DVd controls or I pod, looking for a headunit that suonds good, can work well with my eclipse amp and power my infinitis. A cool display would be nice also. Anything out there $300-500?


I have last years pioneer not sure which model it is but need something new...

 

Do yourself a favor, and get a Pioneer Premier.

They are all I used to buy bc they have the best EQ's built in to their mid-high end decks.

Unfortunately I cheaped out and went Alpine bc of the Ipod Adapter's being less expensive.

Now I'm paying for it with the inability to alter my Mid's and other key areas.

Pioneer Premier are the best decks for sound.

 

The Alpine DVA-9861 is a great sounding head unit for $599. But, if you're looking for a head unit that has a cool looking display, you probably need to look at a Pioneer.

If u want visual pleasure...check out the new 2006 Pioneer DEH-P7800MP. It got full color organic EL-display now. The pics that I've seen look awsome. Order mine last week, getting it tomorrow. Once install I will post some pics...got it on Ebay for $305 shipped.

quick Q, whats the main diff between the two on pricing? Pioneer is pretty good qaulity to. Is it just that the DVD function on alpine?

If you would've waited a little longer, you couldve gotten the upgraded version with Bluetooth. I myself am waiting for the new Soundstreams to come out with a 4" LCD and built in navigation.

 

The retail price(Crutchfield, Best buy, Etc.) is $400-$420. But u can get one from internet store without the manufacture warantee for $100 cheaper. As far as features it has everything that I needed. I don't know what more the Alpine offer.

 

Yeah I saw that model with the bluetooth feature. I really don' have a need for that feature and that model I think is $200 more.
