Is there a post missing? "Screw"???? Not sure what you're working one but the grounding thing we're talking about is a BOLT. It takes a socket to undo. Why are you using pliers, screwdriver or even drilling a hole in the head?

I must really be losing it. What "brackets"?
lol i was scrolling up to reread the page i thought i missed something aswell
Its a Bolt like viper said you need a socket for it, if am not mistaken its a 10 or 12 mm socket someone correct me if am wrong.

Made me go "huh?" too. Then I figured out he posted in the wrong thread. BeerFork is the guy who couldn't get the brackets off his stock radio.

Instructions on posting in the wrong thread (by Doug0716):
1. Download Firefox, this should have been done years ago...
2. Browse forums
3. Use "Middle Click = Open in new tab" feature to open all of the "new posts" until you have about 30 tabs open.
4. Read them all, skipping the longer ones and the ones you're active in.
5. Read the longer ones.
6. Read the ones your active in.
7. Switch to another tab to reference something related.
8. Get confused in the 10 tabs you still have open, go back to the original tab (or so you think, but really one tab over) and type up your response.
9. Press "Add Reply"
10. Close the current tab and continue with the rest of the tabs until you are left with one... the one you meant to reply to.
11. Assume you screwed up and opened it twice, close "duplicate" tab.
12. Close browser or go to another site.

See, it's not so hard.

Hey - what size T-tap connector should I get if I decide to tap into it instead of screwing it in?

I'm hardwiring my X50 this weekend too... got the smartwire extension cord thingy in mail today....

It really doesn't matter as they come as a mated pair. You may get an idea from this. Use the wire for reference:
