Hey, so I was working on the S 2000 and replacing the tail lights when I noticed duck tape wrapped around one of the one of the looms near the driver side tail light. I’ve looked at the wiring diagram and I’m not 100% sure if I’m missing anything but I find it strange that one of the grounding wires and one of the tail light wires go from 1 to 3. Is this factory?
No blue. And the area had silver duck tape. Would an alarm system tap in there? Ever where I cringe when I see the duck tape. But the connections look too nice for the other hack jobs in the wiring harness.
I've never seen a factory or OEM soldered connection in ANY automobile so my knee jerk reaction is Hack Job. These cars are put together on an assembly line and connections just click together. No time for solder and tape. Dealer installed accessories click together as well. Red and Black wires are typically 12vDC (+) and (-) so my guess wanted a extra light to come on with the tail lights, perhaps a fog light like some markets have? May have been "professionally" installed but I strongly doubt it was a Honda dealer and certainly not at the factory.
