Just out of curiosity....what software have you tried?

Also....does mapopolis have

*Restaurants
*Gas stations
*Points of interest
*yellow pages?

 

I tried:
*Pharos Ostia - through Dell - returned in 12 hours...
*Tom Tom v3 - on a friend's PPC - nice view, but it is slow to program and recalculate routes, older maps, actually crashed twice - I did buy their cradle fopr my X5 - looked nice - came to me defective and I returned it - they have PISS poor customer service - they use TeleAtlas maps, not NavTech
*Routis Navigator 2003 - last year's version - slow, reroute problems, older maps too, seemed stable - they do have a 2004 version now

Once again, Mapopolis updates the program for free - you just pay for the maps - that's where they make their money AND you have the choice to buy ONLY the map upgrades you want. I didn't buy the latest one because NavTech skipped Maricopa County (Phoenix) this time, why buy something that isn't updated when the program can be downloaded for free.

I was curious, when copying this list what the difference between a library and libraries is? I tried it and they replied with the same, but when I did court house and goverment it found the same too... not sure what's up with that?

When you get your PPC just try it out, it's one of the few you can do that with too.

Oh and if you Geocache, you can easily update Mapopolis with them too.

This is where the X5 and CF GPS comes in handy.

 

OK....you pretty much sold me on it. I will probably ask Bass, or yourself (if you guys dont mind) to get me the software and east coast maps so I can try it out. If I like it, I will purchase it.

If not, I will try something else. But seems like the consensus is that I will be happy with it.
